Cara has a diverse range of experience representing and advising global pharmaceutical, medical device, and consumer goods clients in a variety of product liability and commercial litigation matters, with an emphasis on serving as national counsel in complex, multijurisdictional product liability suits in state and federal courts.
Cara provides strategic advice at every stage of litigation, beginning with proactive risk assessments before medications and devices are approved, and continuing through pretrial discovery, expert development and strategy, dispositive motion practice, bellwether trials, appeals and ultimately, resolution. Her experience also includes regularly counselling clients on a wide range of risk management, regulatory, clinical research and development, product labeling, recall and public disclosure issues.
Cara's practice involves matters with cross-border aspects and international parties. She has experience litigating cases outside the US for her global clients and offering counselling regarding foreign healthcare authorities.
Cara is the Deputy Managing Partner of the New York Office and the Vice Chair of The Leadership Alliance for Women (LAW).
Allen Ginsburg concentrates his practice in the mergers and acquisitions, corporate, lodging and timeshare and franchising areas. Allen is also a certified public accountant.
Allen has an active practice in the merger and acquisition area including representation of buyers and sellers of businesses in various industries including stock and asset acquisitions and dispositions of manufacturing companies, service businesses, franchising companies and hotel and lodging companies.
Allen’s practice also includes general corporate activities on behalf of entrepreneur clients and representation of lodging and timesharing companies.
Stasia Kelly has extensive experience as both outside counsel and as a general counsel and brings these perspectives to her practice, working closely with boards of directors, general counsel and in-house legal teams, helping clients design and implement effective governance and compliance programs. Stasia also advises boards and executives on crisis management.
Stasia is the Managing Partner (Americas) of DLA Piper. She is also a member of the firm’s Global Board and Executive Committee.
Firmly committed to helping advance women at DLA Piper, Stasia is a mentor to a number of the women lawyers and is on the leadership committee of the firm's Leadership Alliance for Women (LAW), which is committed to the hiring, development and advancement of women lawyers.
Vicky has extensive experience in developing strategies for clients to protect, license and exploit their intellectual property assets. Her practice includes structuring, drafting and negotiating complex commercial and intellectual property agreements.
A significant component of Vicky's practice includes advising clients on open source business models and compliance issues, and she has substantial experience in representing both customers and service providers in cloud computing and software as a service transactions. She also has extensive experience assisting clients in the intellectual property aspects of buy-side and sell-side M&A transactions, spin-ins and spin-outs and carve-outs.
Vicky is a member of the firm's Executive Committee.
Sam Zabaneh's corporate, securities and M&A practice focuses on advising public and emerging private companies and their venture capital and private equity investors through their life cycles, from formation to liquidity.
In his practice, he advises clients regarding general corporate matters and handles various capital raising and liquidity event transactions, including private and public equity financing and mergers and acquisitions. In addition, he advises clients with respect to corporate governance and periodic reporting requirements of publicly held companies.
Sam is a member of the firm's National Leadership Group of the US Emerging Growth and Venture Capital Practice, the firm's governing Policy Committee and the firm's North American Pro Bono Committee.
